OACC BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS

Each year, the Oromocto & Area Chamber of Commerce (OACC) is pleased to offer three awards which recognize significant contributions to the Oromocto area.

This years Business Awards Dinner, it is taking place on May 1, 2025 at the Hazen Centre in Oromocto and our keynote speaker is Brigadier-General S. M. Parsons, CD Commander 5th Canadian Division  (Click here for his bio)

The three awards are:

  • Small Business Excellence Award. Recognizes a business with 10 or fewer employees, including the owner(s). The business has been operational and completed five or more fiscal years at the time of the nomination deadline. Eligible businesses include (but are not limited to) independent businesses, franchise businesses, and corporate businesses. (Company or Person) – The business must have been active for two years minimum.
  • Large Business Excellence Award. Recognizes a business with over ten employees, including the owner(s). The business has been operational and completed five or more fiscal years at the time of the nomination deadline. Eligible businesses include (but are not limited to) independent businesses, franchise businesses, and corporate businesses.
  • New Business Excellence Award. The New Business Award recognizes a business that has been operational and completed one fiscal year and up to five fiscal years at the time of the nomination deadline. Eligible businesses include (but are not limited to) independent businesses, franchise businesses, and corporate businesses.

The OACC will judge the nominees on the criteria listed below; however, welcomes other identified attributes which you believe make the business or community member stand out above others.  All nominations will be considered.

Criteria for Award Nominees to include:

  1. Significant business accomplishments
  2. Involvement in the local community and/or local charities
  3. Contribution and support to local business(es)
  4. Environmentally conscious

TOWN OF OROMOCTO BEAUTIFICATION AWARD

The Oromocto Town Council and the OACC Board of Directors are pleased to announce the 2024 Beautification Award aimed at supporting the local business community and attracting more visitors to the area.

This award program aims to encourage local commercial businesses to beautify and maintain their storefronts and surrounding property. Businesses located within the Town of Oromocto and surrounding area will have the chance to compete for a $2500 prize by registering for the program by August 31, 2024.

To register for this award, businesses must submit a detailed summary of the improvements to their locations with and before and after pictures.

Event Criteria:

  1. The business must be located within Oromocto & Area.
  2. The business does not have to be a member of the Oromocto & Area Chamber of Commerce.
  3. The business has made improvements and/or beautification to their buildings, gardens/landscaping, curbside, etc. within the 2024 calendar year.
  4. The Registration Form must be completed and received the by OACC by August 31, 2024.
  5. Along with the registration form, participants must submit a one-page description of the project improvements and before and after pictures.
